Optimal spacing and nutrition levels boost brinjal yield to record highs
The researchers studied how different spacing and fertigation levels affect the performance of grafted brinjal plants. They used a strip plot design with various spacing and fertigation levels. The results showed that wider spacing led to higher fruit weight and number of fruits per plant, while closer spacing resulted in higher marketable yield. Additionally, plants receiving 100% RDF fertigation had the highest number of marketable fruits and yield per hectare. The combination of 1 m x 1 m spacing and 100% RDF fertigation produced the highest marketable yield in both main and ratoon crops.
