China is facing challenges with urbanization affecting the environment. To address this, a new approach called the urban-rural continuum is being explored for rural planning. This approach aims to create a balance between urban expansion and rural protection by using a model that connects villages, market towns, and cities. By implementing this model, sustainable development in the countryside can be achieved.
