Monsoon Connection: Pakistan and South Korea Rainfall Patterns Linked
The study compared summer rainfall in Pakistan and South Korea to understand how the monsoon systems in Southeast Asia are connected. Data from 1981 to 2014 showed that both countries have similar patterns of rainfall, with July being the wettest month. The atmospheric conditions, like high geopotential height and wind patterns, also showed similarities during the monsoon season. This suggests that the monsoon systems in Pakistan and South Korea are linked through the Tibetan high, Pacific subtropical high, and the East Asian jet stream.
