Revolutionary Rice Seeds Boost Protein Production and Extraction Efficiency!
A protein called hTGF-β1 was made in rice seeds to study how to produce it more efficiently. By using a specific promoter in the seeds and reducing other proteins, the production yield of hTGF-β1 was increased significantly. Different promoters led to different levels of hTGF-β1 production, with some being more effective than others. When the seeds had reduced levels of certain proteins, hTGF-β1 could be extracted more easily using denaturant solution. This was because the protein was mainly found in specific structures in the seeds.
