Improved Buffalo Breeding Boosts Milk Production for Millions
The study looked at how different extenders affect the quality of cooled buffalo semen and its ability to fertilize. Semen from five buffalo bulls was collected, evaluated, and diluted with different extenders before being cooled. Results showed that the tris egg yolk extender led to better semen characteristics compared to citrate egg yolk or skimmed milk extenders. This means that using tris egg yolk extender could potentially improve conception rates when using cooled buffalo semen for artificial insemination.
