Working capital management in fisheries industry negatively impacts firm performance.
The study looked at how managing money in a business affects how well the business does in the fisheries industry in Vietnam. They used data from 21 fisheries companies from 2008 to 2012. The researchers found that how quickly a company turns its money into more money, how long it takes to get paid, how long inventory sits around, and how long it takes to pay bills all have a bad impact on how well the company does and how much it's worth. They also found that being careful with money is good for the company, but being aggressive with money is bad for the company.
