Sperm quality decline threatens infertile couples' IVF success
The study looked at how the quality of sperm from infertile men is affected when incubated at room temperature or body temperature after being prepared for fertility treatments. They found that sperm motility and viability decreased significantly after 2 and 4 hours at room temperature, and DNA damage increased. It was the same for sperm incubated at body temperature. This means that it's better to use the sperm soon after preparation rather than letting it sit at room or body temperature to maintain its quality for procedures like IVF.
