The researchers conducted a three-year on-farm demonstration to find alternative crops to FCV tobacco in Prakasam district. Chickpea and blackgram were the most profitable, followed by maize, jowar, and redgram. Chickpea and redgram were found to be economically viable alternatives to FCV tobacco.
