Optimizing nitrogen and phosphorus levels boosts maize yield significantly.
A study on maize growth found that using 130 kg/ha of nitrogen and 80 kg/ha of phosphorus led to the best plant growth and yield. This combination resulted in taller plants, more leaves, quicker tasseling, more cobs and grains per plant, and higher grain and stalk yields. Overall, this nitrogen and phosphorus combination produced the highest maize yield compared to other treatments.
