Increased nitrogen and sulphur boost mustard yield and quality significantly.
The study looked at how adding nitrogen and sulphur to mustard plants affected their growth and yield. They tested different levels of nitrogen and sulphur on the plants and found that higher levels led to taller plants, more branches, longer seed pods, more seeds per pod, heavier seeds, and higher oil and protein content in the seeds. The best results were seen with the highest levels of nitrogen and sulphur. The researchers also found that the harvest index and protein content were not significantly different at lower levels of sulphur.
