The study looked at how different amounts of seeds and types of rice varieties affect the yield of upland rice in South-West Ethiopia. They found that using 80 kg of seeds per hectare with Nerica-4 or Suparica-1 varieties gave the highest grain yield. Using more seeds than 80 kg per hectare actually decreased the yield. The number of panicles, filled spikelets per panicle, plant height, and panicle length were all positively related to grain yield. Overall, growing Nerica-4 or Suparica-1 with 80 kg of seeds per hectare was the best way to get the most grain and make the most money.
