Coronaviruses are a big group of viruses, with four main types. Most of the time, they cause mild infections. But two types, SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV, have caused serious outbreaks in recent years. SARS-CoV had a mortality rate of 10%, while MERS-CoV had a very high rate of 37%.
