Integrated crop-livestock-forest systems can improve soil quality. Studies show that most research on this topic comes from Brazil, focusing on clayey soils and using a no-tillage system. However, there is a need for more emphasis on biological indicators of soil quality and deeper assessments in the soil profile, especially in systems with a forest component. Researchers suggest comparing different integrated systems and testing rarely used soil quality indicators to better understand how these systems promote soil health.
