The article explores how traditional urban design principles from Fatimid Cairo can be applied to create a more sustainable residential neighborhood in Cairo. By studying historical urbanism and modern urban designs, the researchers developed new guidelines for urban planning. These guidelines were then used to create a master plan for a new urban settlement in New Cairo City, offering a fresh approach to urban design in the Middle East.
