Unemployment in Serbia influenced by inflation, not monetary policy, study finds.
The study looked at whether changing interest rates can affect unemployment in Serbia. They used a special model to analyze data from 2009 to 2019. The results showed that interest rates don't have a long-term impact on unemployment in Serbia. However, there is a connection between inflation and unemployment, with higher inflation leading to more unemployment in the long run. In the short term, neither interest rates nor inflation seem to directly cause changes in unemployment.
