Self-regulation and motivation key to overcoming student procrastination habits.
The study looked at why students procrastinate and found that self-regulation and motivation play a big role. They studied 198 students aged 17 to 24 and found that procrastination decreases with age. The more students can plan and control their actions, the less they procrastinate. Internal motivation to do well in school also helps reduce procrastination. Overall, the study shows that self-regulation and motivation are important factors in determining how much students procrastinate.
