Paper Summary

The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) has changed agriculture in Latvia since joining the EU. It brought new opportunities and money, but also increased competition among farms. This led to changes in the types of agricultural products produced in Latvia. As more countries joined the EU and the CAP got more complex, farmer organizations started playing a bigger role in protecting farmers' interests.
