High-income countries see decrease in correlation between industrial growth and e-waste
The article looks at how industrial growth and environmental protection are connected in Sustainable Development Goals. They used data from 40 countries with different income levels to see how manufacturing and E-waste change. They found that as countries get richer, both manufacturing and E-waste increase. However, the link between them weakens as income rises, and in high-income countries, it even becomes negative. This supports the idea that economic development can affect environmental protection in a complex way. The study suggests that we need to manage and monitor Sustainable Development Goals in a comprehensive and coordinated manner.
