State-dependent inflation target improves stability and financing in monetary unions.
The article explores how setting inflation targets based on the economic situation can improve stability in a two-country monetary union with limited rationality. By comparing actual policy rates to ideal rates, the study measures the effectiveness of traditional monetary policies. Results show that adjusting inflation targets can enhance economic and inflation stability, and how risk-sharing affects member economies' financing conditions in the union.
