A model was created to study how water is shared among different river basins in China. The model showed that the Huang, Huai, and Hai River basins compete for water resources, with the Huai and Hai basins relying more on the Huang River for water. This puts more pressure on the environment in the Huai and Hai basins. The study suggests some ways to use water more sustainably in the face of water shortages.
