Optimizing nutrient application boosts mustard yield and nutrient uptake significantly.
The study looked at how adding sulphur and zinc to mustard plants grown in sandy soil without irrigation affected their growth and nutrient uptake. They tested different levels of sulphur and zinc over two years and found that applying 30 kg of sulphur per hectare increased seed yield by over 50% compared to no sulphur. Similarly, applying 5.0 kg of zinc per hectare led to the highest seed and stover yield. Overall, adding these nutrients up to certain levels significantly increased the uptake of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sulphur, and zinc by the mustard plants.
