Split nitrogen application boosts garlic yield and quality, revolutionizing farming practices.
Nitrogen fertilization is crucial for growing garlic, but too much can lead to unwanted lateral shoot growth. This study looked at different ways of applying nitrogen to see how it affects garlic yield and quality. They found that splitting the nitrogen application before and after clove differentiation resulted in the best garlic yield and quality. Applying nitrogen only once before clove differentiation led to more lateral shoot growth and lower quality garlic. So, it's better to split the nitrogen application for better garlic production.
