Grassland study reveals key factors shaping plant communities in highlands.
The researchers studied grassland vegetation in Hodrušská Hornatina Highland to classify different grassland communities and understand how environmental factors influence their composition. They found that moisture levels were the main factor affecting species composition, with altitude, slope, distance from settlements, and management also playing important roles. The study identified five main grassland associations and highlighted the importance of these environmental factors in shaping the diversity of plant species in the area.
