Black rice cultivation brings high profits and challenges for farmers.
The study looked at the costs and benefits of growing black rice in Nagpur district. They found that most farmers were educated and had large families. Labor was the main expense in growing black rice. The cost of production per quintal was Rs. 3493.09. Farmers made a profit from growing black rice, with an input-output ratio of 3.21. The main challenges faced by farmers were the lack of high-yielding seeds and attacks by wild animals on their crops.
