Boosting African Marigold Yields Enhances Soil Fertility for Sustainable Farming
The study looked at how different amounts of nitrogen and phosphorus affect the seed yield and soil quality after growing African marigold. They tested four levels of each nutrient. The best results were seen when using 100 kg of nitrogen and 50 kg of phosphorus per hectare. This combination led to the highest number of flowers per plant, total flowers per hectare, and seed yield per hectare. The soil in this treatment also had the most suitable pH, electrical conductivity, organic carbon content, and available nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. So, adding 100 kg of nitrogen and 50 kg of phosphorus per hectare seems to be the recipe for growing the best African marigolds and keeping the soil healthy.
