A study in northwest China used remote sensing to track changes in grassland health and value. Degraded grasslands decreased by 387ha annually from 2000 to 2015. Total grassland value dropped by USD$1.64×107 each year. Grasslands mainly provide regulating and supporting services. Overgrazing and weather are causing grassland degradation. Controlling grazing can help grasslands thrive.
