The construction industry in Saudi Arabia faces frequent disputes between owners and contractors due to poorly prepared project documents, interference from owners, and poor contract administration by contractors. These disputes occur at a rate of more than two per month, with project documents, owners, and contractors being the main sources. Owners contribute to disputes through excessive variation orders and delays, while contractors contribute through inadequate contract management. To reduce conflicts, improvements in project documentation, owner-contractor communication, and contract administration are necessary.
