Organic Fertilizers and Bacteria Boost Nutrient Levels, Yield, and Quality of Citrus Fruits
The study looked at how different combinations of fertilizers and additives affected the growth and quality of Kinnow mandarin fruits. They found that using a mix of Azotobacter, vermicompost, and urea fertilizer led to the highest levels of nutrients like nitrogen, calcium, and magnesium in the leaves and fruits. The best results for phosphorus and potassium were seen with vermicompost and urea mixed with Azotobacter. The highest counts of beneficial bacteria and fungi in the soil were also found with this combination. Overall, the study suggests that replacing 25% of nitrogen with vermicompost and adding Azotobacter can improve fruit yield and quality.
