Revolutionizing crop water management with accurate evapotranspiration models.
A study was done in Solan, Himachal Pradesh to figure out how much water Pea plants need. They used a special device called a lysimeter to measure this. They tested six different ways to calculate how much water the plants need and found that the Penman Montieth model was the most accurate. This means that the model closely matched the actual water needs of the plants. The study showed that using a lysimeter can help farmers in regions with a similar climate to better understand how much water their crops need.
