Optimal sowing time and mulching boost pigeon pea crop yields significantly.
The study looked at how planting time and mulching affect pigeon pea growth. Planting on May 10 gave the best results, with taller plants, more branches, and higher yields. Using 10 t/ha of mulch also increased seed yield. Overall, planting on May 10 with 10 t/ha of mulch gave the highest plant height, number of branches, number of pods, and yield compared to other combinations. So, planting pigeon peas in May with heavy mulch can lead to better growth and higher yields.
