Vermicompost Boosts Cauliflower Growth and Nutrition, Reducing Hollow Heart Disease
The study looked at how different types of vermicompost affect the growth of cauliflower on soil lacking in zinc and boron. They tested six treatments, including chemical fertilizers and various vermicomposts. The vermicompost made from Eisenia fetida earthworms and cow dung performed the best, leading to higher cauliflower yields compared to chemical fertilizers. The vermicompost treatments also reduced the occurrence of hollow heart disease in cauliflower. Overall, using vermicompost can be a better option than relying solely on chemical fertilizers for supplying essential nutrients to cauliflower plants.
