China's Belt and Road Initiative at Risk of Accelerating Desertification
The "Belt and Road Initiative" aims to boost development in Asia, Europe, Africa, and beyond. However, rapid changes in land use and infrastructure could worsen desertification in these regions. Desertification, caused by dry climate and poor land management, is a big problem in Central Asia. Countries along the BRI route need to work together to control desertification, or it will keep getting worse. Current efforts to combat desertification are not enough, and more research is needed to understand and address this issue effectively.
