New study reveals key factors driving coalbed methane production in China
The study looked at how water movement and geology affect the amount of coalbed methane in a specific area in China. By analyzing water composition and rock interactions, researchers found that coal seam No. 3 has less water influence compared to coal seam No. 15, which is connected to underground water sources. The gas content in coal seam No. 15 is higher due to differences in water movement and faults. The study shows that the type of rock layers and faults play a big role in how much gas can be produced from coal seams in the Anze Block.
