The study looked at how Finnish people who are good at Norwegian use certain types of words in emails. They found that these Finnish-Norwegian people use fewer of these words than Norwegians, but they also use some more unusual ones. Even though Finnish and Norwegian are different, there are some similarities in how these words are used. This suggests that knowing Finnish might help when learning Norwegian.
