New herbicide method boosts maize growth and yield in North-Western India.
The researchers tested different herbicides on maize plants to see which ones were most effective at controlling weeds and improving crop growth. They found that using specific herbicide combinations led to lower weed growth, larger leaves, longer cobs, and higher grain yields compared to untreated plots. The best results were seen with a combination of halosulfuron and tembotrione herbicides applied at specific times. These herbicides also reduced weed density and dry matter, resulting in better overall weed control in the maize fields.
