University Energy Costs Slashed by Millions with New Cogeneration Technology.
Colleges and universities are using gas turbine cogeneration systems to save money and improve energy efficiency. These systems, made by GE Marine & Industrial Engines and Stewart & Stevenson Services, Inc., help reduce heating and cooling costs while providing reliable services to students and faculty. For example, the University of Northern Colorado saved around $1 million per year by using a 68 MW cogeneration facility.
