Extreme temperatures in Northern Kenya were studied using data from three weather stations over 36 years. The researchers used extreme value theory to model how often extreme temperatures occur. They found that the GEV model was the best at predicting extreme temperature behavior, with tests confirming its accuracy. The results showed that extreme temperatures are becoming more common for longer periods, which could have significant impacts on plants, animals, and human health in the region.
