The article explores how the European Union's expansion affected food trade from 2002 to 2017. It looks at the export and import of agricultural products outside the EU. The study shows that EU countries have increased their trade in food and beverages, with a focus on alcoholic beverages, bakery products, and wheat. Most exports go to other EU countries, Russia, China, and countries in South America, Africa, and Asia. Imports to the EU mainly consist of vegetables, fruits, coffee, tea, cocoa, and fish products. The research reveals that accession to the EU has led to the removal of trade tariffs and boosted trade improvements.
