Innovative rice cropping system boosts productivity and reduces environmental impact.
The study looked at different ways to grow rice in northern Iran to improve performance and reduce environmental impact. They tested five cropping systems and two planting patterns in field trials. The results showed that the semi-mechanized planting method had higher tiller numbers and nutrient efficiency compared to the traditional method. The high-input and improved systems had higher yields than the conventional and organic systems. Overall, creating an innovative improved system can increase rice productivity and nutrient uptake efficiency.
