Facial expression analysis can be improved by using a new method that combines features from different layers of a neural network. By using this approach, the accuracy of recognizing facial expressions can be greatly increased. In experiments, this new method improved expression recognition rates by 33.3%, 2.3%, and 22% on different datasets compared to the traditional method.
