Organic fertilizer boosts maize growth, challenges chemical fertilizers.
The researchers studied how organic fertilizer made from agricultural waste affects the growth of maize plants. They used different mixtures of ingredients like Neem seeds and rice husk to make the fertilizer. After testing the fertilizers on maize plants for 12 weeks, they found that the mixture with more poultry litter had the highest nitrogen content. This mixture also helped the plants grow taller, with thicker stems, more leaves, and larger leaf area compared to other mixtures. This shows that organic fertilizer can be a good alternative to chemical fertilizers for improving soil and providing nutrients to plants.
