New method revolutionizes identification of buried igneous rocks in seismic surveys.
The study looked at how to identify and predict igneous rocks in a specific region by comparing their seismic reflection characteristics. Researchers created three types of models to analyze the seismic properties of the rocks. By using time-slice and coherence analysis, they were able to successfully identify and predict the presence of igneous rocks buried deep in the ground. This method proved effective in the north Tarim basin YingMaiLi region.
