Multinational Corporations Unlock Pathway to Harmonious Employee Identification
Employees who identify with both their company's subsidiary and the larger multinational corporation tend to make decisions that benefit both. A new study looked at how employees form these identifications. They found three types: single (identifying with just the subsidiary), extended (some MNC identification mixed with subsidiary identification), and coupled (identifying with both separately and together). Factors like expatriation and job interdependence with headquarters or other units are linked to the coupled form of identification. This research offers new insights into how multinational corporations can manage employee identification.
