Internet Access Crucial for Academic Success Among Nigerian Undergraduates.
The study looked at how undergraduates at Western Delta University in Nigeria use the internet. They found that students have good computer skills, mostly use their phones to access the internet, and spend at least 2 hours online every day. They prefer using the internet in hostels or cybercafes. Students use the internet for academic work, social networking, and finding information. The main internet resources they use are online databases, social networking sites, and search engines like Google. Some challenges they face include limited internet access, high costs, and power outages. The study suggests providing more internet access in the university library and better facilities for students to use their own laptops.
