China's Economic Statecraft Reshaping Power Dynamics in East Asia
China uses its economic power to influence its relationships with East Asian countries. This study looks at how China's economic policies help achieve its political goals in the region. By offering incentives and applying pressure, China gains more political influence but also faces growing tensions with its trading partners. Despite slower economic growth, China will continue to be a major player in East Asia. However, China's "soft power" is still weak, and it needs to shift away from relying solely on trade and exports for economic success.
