New Bacillus Megaterium Bacteria Strains Boost Plant Nutrient Absorption!
Scientists isolated new strains of Bacillus megaterium bacteria from soil samples and studied their properties. These bacteria are important for improving plant growth by dispersing phosphorus, a key nutrient for plants. By screening bacterial strains, they confirmed the identity of 6 new strains of B. megaterium. They found that 16 out of 58 isolated bacteria belonged to this species, with a 7.6% contamination rate in soil samples. This expanded collection of bacterial strains will be further studied to develop biofertilizers that enhance plant nutrient absorption.
