Wind energy potential varies significantly in different locations, impacting power generation.
The study analyzed wind power potential in two locations in Galati county, Romania, using wind speed data from 2017-2018. They used Weibull and Rayleigh distribution models to assess wind characteristics and energy potential. The k parameter values varied between the two locations and years. Despite similar average wind speeds, the maximum power density differed significantly between the locations. The wind speed producing the most energy had the greatest impact on wind power potential. The Rayleigh distribution was not suitable for one of the locations due to non-normal wind speed distribution.
