Poyang Lake, the largest freshwater lake in China, is home to important wetlands and wildlife. Scientists studied the lake's ecological water level using six methods. The results showed that none of the methods fully met the lake's ecological needs due to its complex hydrology. The researchers suggest that a dynamic water level, rather than a fixed one, is needed for the lake's health.
