New study shows constructed wetlands effectively treat wastewater in short time!
Constructed wetlands are effective for treating sewage. Three types were tested: Vertical Flow, Horizontal zigzag flow, and Upflow. Water quality was tested before and after treatment for one month. Removal of pollutants like COD and Phosphates increased over time. Nitrification was good from the start. Solids removal fluctuated but showed an overall increasing trend. More sampling is recommended at the initial stage of constructed wetlands.
