Soil phosphorus levels impact pigment content in clover leaves.
The researchers studied how the amount of phosphorus in soil affects the pigments in meadow clover leaves. They found that the levels of chlorophyll and carotenoids in the leaves varied depending on the soil phosphorus levels. In 2019, there was a significant relationship between soil phosphorus and chlorophyll a and b in cooler conditions. However, in 2018, this relationship was not significant in warmer conditions. The researchers also discovered that the chlorophyll pigments had a strong connection with soil phosphorus levels in 2019, but not in 2018. Overall, the study shows that soil phosphorus levels can impact the pigment content in meadow clover leaves.
